With over 20 years of experience in the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery, Meghan Buchman has built her career around advancing program quality, data integrity, and patient outcomes. She has worked extensively within bariatric programs as both a clinical coordinator and a Certified Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR), giving her a comprehensive understanding of the operational and compliance demands of MBSAQIP-accredited centers.

Throughout her career, Meghan has partnered with large hospital systems and accredited bariatric centers across the country, providing expertise in program management, data abstraction, and process improvement. Her deep knowledge of MBSAQIP standards and her commitment to data accuracy have helped programs maintain accreditation, optimize workflow efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of patient care.

As the founder and CEO of ClarityQCR, Meghan leads a team of certified MBSCRs dedicated to supporting hospitals and health systems through fractional and outsourced data abstraction services. Her mission is to help bariatric programs reduce administrative burden, maintain compliance, and continue improving outcomes through accurate, timely, and cost-effective data management.

Sharon Hillgartner, Clinical Liason

As a Retired Nurse Practitioner and actively licensed Registered Nurse with 47 years broad experience in Healthcare, Sharon was named one of DFW’s Great 100 Nurses in 2002 while working at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas on the Cardiac and Nephrology Transplant unit.

She has been named as a Who’s Who is Healthcare and served as the President of the North Texas Nurse Practitioners in 2010. In opening the Women’s Heart and Vascular Wellness Program for Texas Health Resources, Sharon pursued her personal and professional interest in Preventative Medicine and led the program to state recognition for prevention of chronic diseases. She also served as the Nurse Practitioner for the Cancer Risk Reduction & Genetics Center, where she helped lead the program to an American College of Surgeons National Best Practice Designation for their innovative approach to cancer prevention and early detection. In early 2012, Sharon combined her passion for prevention & wellness and returned to her 1st love, leading one of the country’s busiest Bariatric Surgical Programs.

She has presented at several Local, State, and National meetings and professional conferences on Health, Wellness and Prevention. Sharon returned to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in 2015 to oversee Specialty Services, which encompassed Orthopedic, Spine, and Bariatric Services. As a Certified Bariatric Nurse and 2019-2020 Integrated Health President for Texas Association for Bariatric Surgeons, she served as the bariatric coordinator for the facility’s Weight Loss Services Program. Since moving to Montana in 2020 to be near her grandchildren, she has continued her passion for bariatrics and quality program development by helping facilities around the country open and prepare their bariatric programs for national accreditation. Sharon was named an ASMBS Integrated Health Fellow for ASMBS in 2024.

She currently serves on the ASMBS CBN Leadership Council as Co-Chair. Remaining actively engaged in bariatrics, Sharon serves as a Remote MBSCR for outside facilities and the Bariatric Program Coordinator at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT. where she led them to their initial MBSAQIP Accreditation within a year of hire. The program is the only MBSAQIP-accredited facility in Western Montana. She presented nationally on Bariatric Quality Metrics and the Bariatric coordinator role on multiple occasions over the past few years. As a successful post-op bariatric surgery patient of over 20 years, who once topped the scales at well over 300 lbs., Sharon has a desire to help facilities develop and maintain great programs. She believes that each of us starts our journey toward a healthier life by taking just one step in the right direction. She has spent the last two decades traveling a road toward a healthier life and leading others on the journey.
